About Me
Hi everyone my names is Amy, I am 20 years old. I live with my mum, dad and younger brother and sister. I am the oldest of three. Being an older sibling has it advantages and disadvantages but I dont think I would change it for the world. I also have 2 dogs, 2 kittens, a cat and a rabbit.
I am currently a first year student at Murdoch University. My area of study and the direction I want to take in life is Early Childhood and Primary Education.
Growing up, I mainly lived in the country, country girl at heart. I have only lived close to the city since early 2011. The main areas I have lived in was the Wheatbelt from 1996-2004 and the Goldfields from 2004-2011. While I was living in the Goldfields, I finished highschool through a distance education program called SIDE (Schools of Isolated and Distance Education). The reason to the distance education, was due to the remote area I lived in and the resources that were avaliable. From that, I then worked for 2 years as a Museum Assistant at the Leonora Gwalia Historical Museum. The Museum where I worked, was on the edge of an open cut pit. For people who do not know what an open cut pit is or haven't seen one, it is a large whole in the ground that is used in mining (picture avaliable in photo gallery).
In moving to a different area, I decided to do something that I was interested in, that kept coming up in options of what I wanted to do. Something that could allow me to help make a difference or to help others, while creating a career and stable future for myself. In my quest, I found the OnTrack pre-university program, which has given me the chance to go into university and I think that it is the best decision I could have ever made.
